Specialized Experience

Legacy Anthropology was started in 2019 by Susan Larsen and Nicholas Gouette. We collectively have over 20 years of experience in cultural resource management on over 175 projects in Washington State, and two projects in Oregon. Our goal in starting our company was apply our passion for ethics and attention to detail to this highly sensitive work. We possess a distinct collective of experience beyond archaeology, encompassing geology, construction, and the service industry, which informs and enhances our work.

Roots in Washington State

Nick and Susan are both born and raised Washingtonians, setting us apart from our peers. Nick was born and raised in Snohomish County, and Susan was born and raised on Whidbey Island. We both have a lifetime of insight into Washington State, its people, its environment, and its history. Additionally, Nick has roots in Oregon, where he has traveled to frequently throughout his life to visit family.
